The Pearly Band

From the Disney classic "Mary Poppins," audiences were introduced to the animated Pearly Band, the musicians that accompanied Mary while she sang "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."

At Disneyland, you can see their real-life counterparts in the flesh in these May 1973 images. The first shot here also shows The Fantasyland Art Corner behind them:

The next sequential shot shows the Pearly Band playing in front of the Fantasy Gift Fair...

which, judging by this June 1964 shot, was located approximately where the Pinocchio attraction is today:

Guests can still be entertained by the Pearly Band, who perform often in the courtyard of the Castle:

Never did see the Pearly Band and wish I had. Think they need to bring this back! Not a fan of the 'new' Disneyland experience.

Change is good but then again, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Oh wow! Learn something new every day! I don't think I've ever seen this band; I really need to start arriving at the park earlier than 6pm. :-/
