Frontierland Transportation: Buckboards

Part two of this trilogy tale is about the Buckboards/Carriages from Frontierland. Picture one shows a buckboard and it appears that it might be from a pre-opening event, as the buildings/window area of these Frontierland facades seem to be unfinished. Shot #2 (yup, recycled from a previous post!) shows a true lady in pink and pearls, ready to ride shotgun on a trip through the old west, circa August 1956.

The third photo is our farewell shot for this post; undated but definitely 1950's material. I believe that the Buckboards/Carriages disappeared simultaneously with the Wagons and Stagecoaches. Experts, feel free to chime in!

Today, the only "carriages" you can ride at Disneyland are the kinds that use that crazy gasoline stuff...the ones that putter up and down Main Street. See more Disneyland Frontierland vehicle photos at my website.

I believe that this particular coach was known as a "Yellowstone Coach". I guess it just didn't have that instant "old west" appeal that the Stagecoaches had, because they must not have been used for long.

And for Vintage Disneyland Tickets, you can see that it says "Disneyland Transportation", just like on those mystery tickets that you showed a short while back.
