Back to the Golden Horseshoe

Time to revisit the Golden Horseshoe with a beautiful color shot of the cast. Again, date unknown (Bueller, Bueller?). I will also add a few other bw shots that are most likely from 1963.

See more vintage and contemporary Disneyland photos at my main website.

Wow Dave, that color shot of the cast of the Golden Horseshoe Revue is amazing! Is this a publicity shot, or is this actually a slide that you found? Either way it is wonderful. Look at how young Wally Boag looks.

I think the top one is mid 1960s as the logos on the Pepsi cups appear to be of that time period. Also, the table tents from what I can tell are the newer format, not the original style.

Wow is right! I wonder if it is a publicity shot too as it has captured Wally's gun shot (fire and smoke) perfectly. Matterhorn you can make all that Pepsi stuff out? Great eyes my friend. I can't tell the date but I wonder if that is Fulton Burley up there next to Wally. I know there was another gentleman before Fulton, Donald Novis (the guy who sang "Love is a Song" in Bambi) which might help us date this photo.

The top one is from a large color transparency. Amazon, I would definitely agree that due to the poised nature, the perfect smoke, etc., this has to be a publicity shot.

This photo is actually one of the first postcards issued featuring The Golden Horseshoe Revue. That's Donald Novis, the show's first Irish tenor and the man who got Wally to audition for the show in July 1955.
