Skyway Images, Summer 1960

Please back off the Major...here are two photos today, both showing the long-gone (RIP 1956—1994) Skyway. The first shot shows the Fantasyland Alpine-themed station, and the second shows the buckets passing through the holes in the Matterhorn. And yes, the holes have been filled in.

See more vintage and contemporary Disneyland Skyway photos at my main website.

Great images today. I like the one with the Matterhorn Skyway tunnels.

Such a simple attraction, but wow do I miss it. How am I supposed to drop pennies on people now? ;-)

When are they going to do something with the Fantasyland Skyway building? It would make a perfect entrance for a new dark ride that could be built in the backstage area behind BTR. Maybe a ride for their new film, Frozen, or an alpine-themed ride to the Mickey Mouse short, "Alpine Climbers''?
